課程大綱(Course Outline)
英授(Taught in English)

The course introduces urban design for architects as critical background knowledge and raises awareness about spatial design and its urban effects. Designed for graduate and upper-year undergraduate architecture students, the course frames urban design as a synergistic discipline that strengthens design judgment and expands urban concerns.

Through theoretical references, case analysis, and proseminar discussion, the course broadens and deepens perspectives on architectural design and urbanism.

Urban design synthesizes architecture, planning, landscape, infrastructure, and urban processes; it operates at various scales and modes of intervention. The course helps form an architectural position and equips designers to shape human-centric environments that integrate physical, temporal, social, cultural, technological, and ecological domains.
